Kapoor has been out of the spotlight in recent years, however this survey of a new body of work demonstrates that the artist has been far from idle. An impressive volume of finished pieces, preparatory studies and technical research are collected here which illustrate Kapoor’s excursion into the fluid and plastic qualities of cement. Central to the project are questions of development, reproduction and the modelling of shape – all generated with the help of a purpose built machine – which helps the artist explore the border between artifice and event.
