Between 1916 and 1925, Paul Klee crafted a series of hand puppets for his son Felix, such as the White-Haired Eskimo and the Specter of Matchbox, the Electrical Spook and theBig-Eared Clown. At the beginning of this period, Klee based the puppets on the popular Kasperl (Punch anf Judy) theater; later he developed his own characteres. Klee´s puppets are hybrid figures, full of whimsical fantasy. There are works of art and toys in one-and, even more, there are a dialogue between father and son, Paul Klee and Felix Klee.
