Zumthor. Spirit of nature Wood architecture award 2006

This book includes texts by Mikko Heikkinen and Peter Zumthor. "There is a special feel to living in a room of solid joined beams, a room not simply clad in wood but made of wood through and through." - Peter Zumthor, the fourth recipient of the international Spirit of Nature Wood Architecture Award. This book presents three projects by him: Haus Luzi for a family of six children, realized in 2002, Haus Annalisa for Annalisa Zumthor, and Pension Briol´s five ´tree houses´ in southern Tyrol. Haus Annalisa and Pension Briol are still plans, and are featured with beautiful water colour sketches, models and plans which give a good idea of the designing process.
