Lettera 2

In this reprint of the second volume of Lettera, first published in 1961, series editor Armin Haab is joined by type-design superstar Walter Hættenschweiler. Volume 2 includes 64 complete alphabets. Typeface freaks will appreciate the delicacy and detail of faces designed and fashioned by hand in the era before offset typography – and long before everyone had a list of “fonts” a mile long on their computer. The ornate display faces are amazing: check out Green Leaves, sprouting like a tree in the spring, and Grafik, an Art Deco marvel.
