Catalogue of the exhibition Miralda. De gustibus non disputandum at the MNCARS between June 24 - October 17, 2010.
This Latin proverb chosen as title for Antoni Miralda’s retrospective gives way to an afterthought of a multiform artistic production, which transports the spectator, with humour and irony, from the object to the great ceremonial celebrations, from the private to the public space, from the intimate to the monumental and from the local to the universal. The essays analyse the dialectic aspect of the images, the context of his work, his treatment of the feast rituals and commemoration through monument, the ephemeral character, putting together in a catalogue raisonée about four decades of pieces, actions and performances.
Authors: Manuel J. Borja-Villel, Valentín Roma, Marc Dachy, Néstor García Canclini, Cecilia Novero, Isabel Tejeda, Celeste Olalquiaga, Amy Rosemblum
