Provoking Magic.Lighting of Ingo Maurer

Published in conjunction with a major exhibition at the Smithsonian´s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, Provoking Magic:Lightning of Ingo Maurer presents a broad array of Maurer´s iconic works, remounted and reconceived specifically for this project, as well as never-before-seen works created for this exhibition. An essay written by Maurer with his daughter and colleague Claude, an interview of Maurer by Paper magazine´s editor in chief Kim Hastreiter, an essay by critic Julie Iovine, and 200 photographs, sketches, and drawings- accompannied by notes and drawings handwritten by Maurer specifically for this publication- provide an unprecedented look at this legendary creator´s career, methods, and inspirations.
