At the end of the 13th century, the city of Toulouse began a brilliant chapter in its history, in a context of relative political stability. The demographic and economic dynamism was strong; intellectual life was developing, thanks to the presence of colleges and the university.

Thanks to recent research carried out in parallel in various disciplines, this book, abundantly illustrated and commented, makes it possible to draw up a completely new state of affairs on creation in Toulouse in the 14th century and to finally re-evaluate the place of this beautiful city as one of the great artistic centres of the period.
