The retrospective devoted to Ulises Carrión (1941, San Andrés Tuxtla, Veracruz, Mexico – 1989, Amsterdam, Netherlands) explores the various aspects of a many-sided artistic and intellectual oeuvre, from the artist´s beginnings as a successful and respected young writer in Mexico to his periods in France, Germany and England (1964-1972), when he sharpened his determination to innovate language, and finally to Amsterdam, where he settled definitively and became involved in a wide range of artistic and literary activities.

The show will gather some 350 books, magazines, videos, films, soundscapes, examples of mail art, multimedia creations, performances, etc. Also on display will be a number of projects where Carrión acted as curator, editor, distributor, TV and radio activist, lecturer and writer.
