In response to an invitation from 1ab.nl (Ist Archiecture Biennale Rotterdam) to engage in the general Biennale thematic of ´Mobility´ RMIT Architecture framed an architectural student design project on the Murray-Darling River with the intention to provoke parallel conversations between the Netherlands and Australia around the theme of water and its control. If the Netherlands has too much water and not enough land, Australia suffers from the exact opposite: insufficient water supply to adequately sustain its population across an expansive dry landscape. This book contains an account of the outcomes of this reseatch.
