El paso del Ebro. Corre, azul plata

El paso del Ebro. Corre, azul plata

Teresa Lanceta —recipient of the 2023 National Prize for Visual Arts— presents this work in book format, where her personal experience converges with collective memory. The publication brings together her diary-like notes, written during her weekly train journeys between Alicante and Barcelona over the seven years she taught at the Escola Massana. On these trips, she crossed the Ebro River twice a week—a journey she also captured in a series of landscape photographs. In addition, the book includes an excerpt from the exhibition project El Paso del Ebro, which features textiles and everyday objects created by survivors of the Battle of the Ebro and recovered from La Trinxera (a permanent exhibition center in Corbera d’Ebre led by Josep M. Gabarró and Pere Sanz).
Published as a bilingual edition, this volume weaves together Lanceta’s lived experience with the memory of the 1938 Battle of the Ebro—an episode still resonant in her maternal family history, deeply rooted in that land.
