Hybrid histories. Forests, frontiers and wildness in Western Indi

This book examines the environmental and cultural histories of the Dangs of south Gujarat in western India. Instead of depending only on the conventional forms of history-writing, Skaria draws on the epochs of Dangi oral traditions and concerns about their past. These represent Dangi reflections on colonialism, modernity and history.
