Television in Spain. From Franco to Almodóvar

Spaniards are among the most avid consumers of television in Europe, watching some four hours daily, and in the past decade viewers have enjoyed an explosion of Spanish production, especially in quality drama and comedy. Spanish television has not just held its own against Hollywood but has shunted US shows to the margins of the schedule.
