Rep-lo a casa en una setmana per Missatger o Eco Enviament*The plot revolves around the character of Augusto, a wealthy, intellectual and introverted young man and his love affair with Eugenia, which ends in heartbreak. Augusto elects to kill himself, but decides that he needs to consult with Unamuno himself, who had written an article on siucide which augusto has read. When Augusto speaks with Unamuno, the truth is revealed, that the former is actually a fictional character whom the latter has created.
John Macklin, who has already translated unamuno´s Abel Sánchez in this series, provides a much needed new English version of the text, alongside the original Spanish and preceded by a substantial introduction.
John Macklin is Professor of Hipanic Studies at the University of Glasgow and Head of the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, and a Visitingo Professor at the University of Ulster. In 1994, he was made a Commander of the Order of Isabella the Catholic by King Juan Carlos for his services to Spanish studies.
